Monkey Bridge Building

17th of July, mi, Chujing, Boey and BenJie decided to overnight in school in order to complete our last requirement of Maju Journey Test.

Since we had the whole afternoon nothing to do, Chujing then suggested us to build the bridge, which is one of the requirement in King Scout badges.

The requirement of the bridge is: it must contains at least 2 tripod, and at least 5 meter long.

So, 4 of us started planning the look of the bridge. But anyway, we did not care the physical appearances of the bridge. Instead, we cared about the stability of the bridge. All we had to do was to build up a firm and unshakable bridge.

Firstly, Boey had came out with a plan.
Well, stupid right?

How could this kind of bridge be stable?

Yet, Boey adhered to his "genius" punya planning...

To avoid any pointless wrangle, as Gary (our scouter) said that "scouts must cooperate mah", we just followed his plan, but still dissatisfied.

We built up 3 tripods, but had not finish up the bases. And den, Boey said that he need to go back home to prepare something, and will come back later. So, we stopped our work and took the opportunity to get a rest as Boey went back.

After our dinner, we carried on our bridge building. And also, we decided to change the plan, as we knew the bridge in Boey's plan would NEVER be firm enough for us to step on it.

Chujing went searching types of scouting bridge via the Internet in scout den and finally, he found one interesting one, which was "monkey bridge".

This is definately much more BETTER than Boey's plan.

So, we abandoned the third tripod and started building the bridge as shown in the figure.

When Boey says "later", he meant it. It was really very late in night when he arrived the school. We had almost finish up the whole thing. He came to us and helped us out to build the bridge. And the stupid BenJie kept complaining that he is hungry at that time... =.=ll

After numerous attempt at building up the bridge, we were able to built up our bridge very successfully with the height of around 2 meters ++ and with the distance of around 5 meters++.

It was so successful that even Gary praised us for our hard work. (For your information, Gary is a very strict scouter.)

Although we had painful blisters on our palms which formed while we tightening the ropes to stable the bridge, we felt that it worths us for the try.

We cheered for our triumph with our weary statures, "Hey boy scouts, look at our 'hasil seni' lah". And I knew, we were too arrogant at that moment... lols...

On the second morning, we woke up very early and took some pictures with the bridge instead of taking photos last night since it was too dark.

Unfortunately for BenJie, he went back home while we were taking photos... lols...
